At Bannerman Auctions, we offer professional appraisal services to help you understand the value of your items. If you are considering selling, our experienced team is here to assist. Below are answers to some common questions about our appraisal process:
What is an appraisal?
An appraisal is a professional assessment that provides an estimated market value of an item. Our appraisers analyze various factors, including condition, rarity, provenance, and current market trends, to give you an accurate valuation.
How do I request and appraisal?
For one or a few items, give us a call or send an email with a list and description of the items that you have. (Photos are very helpful.) Note the price that you would like to get for them. If they are interesting items and we feel that there is a reasonable profit to be made, you will have a sale. For a large group of items or a complete collection, call with the details. If it sounds like a promising deal, we will travel to your location.
What types of items do you appraise?
We specialize in appraising a wide range of items, including military memorabilia, antiques, collectibles, and more. If you’re unsure whether your item qualifies, feel free to reach out.
Is there a fee for appraisals?
We offer complimentary evaluations if you are considering consigning your item with us. Please contact us for more information.
How is the appraisal conducted?
For high-value or delicate items, we recommend an in-person appraisal to ensure accuracy. Appraisals can be conducted remotely via photographs and detailed descriptions as well.
Additionally, we have retail space at Pastimes Antiques Mall in downtown Cape Girardeau, Missouri. For your GPS, the address is 45 N. Main St., Cape Girardeau, MO. Be sure to reach out to confirm an appraiser is available to meet beforehand.
What happens after the appraisal?
If you decide to sell your item through our auction, our team will guide you through the consignment process. We will handle everything from cataloging and marketing to the auction sale and final settlement.
